FAQ

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions and our typical response

Q.   I don't live in New Mexico but I would like to build a southwest style home.  Can you help me?

A.   It would be expensive for you to pay us to travel out of our region of Albuquerque and Santa Fe.  We recommend you find a builder in your area that is willing to work with you.    We would be willing to enter into a contract for consultation.

Q.  Where can I get more information about homebuilding and the design and build process?

A.  Sign up for a informational newsletter.  You can see an example and sign up by clicking here.

Q.   I love the southwestern style.  Where can I get more information?

A.   Su Casa Magazine is devoted to homes built in New Mexico.  Go to www.sucasamagazine.com.

Q.   I would like to purchase some beautiful carved posts and corbels like I see on so many homes in New Mexico.  Where can I find those?

A.   New Mexico Timber and Viga is a great source for beams, vigas, latillas, corbels and custom carving.  Go to www.nmtimber.com.  They can ship to anywhere in the country.

Q.   How much does a custom home cost?

A.   Custom homes in Albuquerque and Santa Fe usually start at over $125 per heated square foot without the land.  Most of the homes you see on this website vary in cost from $145 per square foot to  $300 per square foot.  The cost of the lots we build on vary in price from $40,000 to over $200,000.

Q.   How long does it take to design and build a custom home?

A.   It can take several months to design your dream home.  The construction can take from 6 months to over a year.  For the entire design build process, you should plan on about one full year.  It could take more, but probably not less.
